Turkish Boz Shepherds
HOME OF ONE OF THE MOST VISIONARY BREEDING MODELS KNOWN
BozKennel-USA is being established in the USA as an extension of the legacy Akin Tulubas has worked to build in Turkey over the past 30 years. This has been a slowly developing manifestation of Akin Tulubas and a few core breeders dream to be able to create amazing dogs in a program, with enough of a gene-pool and population managed sufficiently to not be degraded once they leave our hands. Akins plans are to eventually train enough dedicated breeders in CYNOLOGY, Judging, Breeding and Raising Turkish Boz Shepherds as LGDs to carry on the legacy. We currently have established breeders in Texas, Kansas, Colorado and Florida on board and others taking the steps to join. Please check out our Breeders Page.
We are starting with the absolute best genetics available in Turkey and setting up a central control breeding model that will maintain and enhance the quality of these magnificent dogs. Our goal is to produce Turkish Boz Shepherds at the absolute top of their potential as the largest, most athletic and physically capable dog capable of deterring the world’s top predators.
Whether you want the opportunity to share your life with an absolutely amazing dog or want to become part of groundbreaking new model in dog breeding, take the time to read about what we are working to establish.
Minik at BozKennel Turkey 42” 275#
Turkish Boz Shepherds produced by BozKennel-USA will be a next level dog when compared to most of the other bloodlines of Boz in North America, and multiple levels above the other contending Turkish LGDs here. Kangals in North America are reported to be in the 28-32” 90-140# range, with Anatolians smaller. Although this is still plenty large to handle coyotes, we would not recommend them up against the wolves.
Come explore the world of dogs that few people have seen in person and most have never heard of. Huge athletic guardian dogs ranging from 34-42” 180-275#. Dogs starting where the next largest left off and most breeds could never dream of.
NBG has partnered with a ranch owner that has two ranches in Idaho and Montana. Just over 37k acres in Idaho and double that in Montana where at a minimum we will be able to test out bloodlines and source semen or pups from the dogs that can work effectively against the top predators of North America. This will be crucial in the selection process in so many areas. Not just ability to provide a deterrence to the most formidable predators, but surviving the harsh environment, staying with the stock on a 10x12 mile property, ability to hold together traveling 20-50 miles a day and so many other traits that cannot be assessed on smaller properties against a minimal predator load.
Depending on my ability to survive the winters, I hope to move the dog breeding operation to the ranches for full time management and evaluation of the dogs. We will also be partnering too biologically enhance the dogs through embryonic neural enhancement, epigenetic triggering and dietary optimization and supplementation to assist neural development for the purpose of intelligence optimization. All of this will be necessary to control the wolves, mountain lions and bears on these properties and recreate a LGD at the level turkey needed before the big cats were exterminated.
